You can't be brave if you've only had wonderful things happen to you. - Mary Tyler Moore
I find such simplistic beauty in this quote, the essence of bravery stems from situations of discomfort and challenge. Embracing the moment while enduring through trying times allows you to gain strength and courage. Without struggle there is no progress, those are the words of Frederick Douglass, which depict progress through perseverance. You must climb up the mountain to be able to enjoy the view from the top.
when shit hits the fan
When shit hits the fan how will you react?
When you can't dictate the flow, can you remain calm ?
Maybe sooner or later you will just explode, lose control, tear through your soul.
When you plan a lovely day and them clouds ain't cooperating, hoped for the best but the odds are not too accommodating, they tell you soon but you're just about tired of waiting, you've taken as much as you can; when shit hits the fan.
Can you see through the turbulent perils of tonight's overcast and allude to the glorious pastures of tomorrow?
Does fear strike a heightened awareness in you? An awareness that will be used in a proactive measure to negate further recurrences.
Are you a warrior with stories engraved through thy heart and body, a forever evolving being able to adapt to a multitude of situations, able to recognize the survival capabilities of every woman and man?
What you like . . . when shit hits the fan?
